Following Saturday's American Southwest Conference Cross Country Championships, the yearly awards were announced, and along with the all-conference honorees, senior men's runner
Ken Wheeler was named Sportsmanship Athlete of the Year.
The top seven finishers in each of the men's and women's races were named first-team all-ASC, and for McMurry, that included Wheeler and Todd Neer who finished third and fourth respectively overall. On the women's side,
Carla Lewis, the individual champion was automatically a first-team selection and the ASC Female Runner of the Year.
Runners who finished in the 8-14 spots overall were named second-team all-conference including McMurry's
Brad Mullens who finished 10th overall. On the women's side
Kurstin Draper finished 14th to garner second-team all-conference honors.
