ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University will send seven men and one woman to the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Greencastle, Ind. Friday and Saturday on the campus of DePauw University.

After a last-chance meet at Iowa State University Saturday, McMurry learned Sunday who would be in. The list includes Kevin Cunningham, Gavan Bass, Thomas Dimitri, Corey Altenburg, Terry Smith, Marcus Thompson, and Kolby Barnhill for the men while Holly Rollins will compete in the pole vault for the women's team.

Cunningham ran a season-best 48.86 seconds earlier this season in the 400-meter race and was picked up for nationals with the third-best time in the nation. He, along with Smith, Thompson and Barnhill automatically qualified Saturday in Ames, Iowa in the 4X400-meter relay with a time of 3:16.85, which is the second best time in the nation entering into the national championships.

Bass will compete in two events, the 55-meter dash and the long jump. The two-sport standout for McMurry holds the 10th-best time in the nation with a mark of 6.42 seconds and his long jump of 23-00.50 is 14th best in the country.

Dimitri and Altenburg each qualified in the pole vault. Both athletes jumped 16-01.25 to tie for the 11th best jump in the nation entering into the national meet.

Rollins, the 2008 Outdoor national champion, was the last athlete picked up to compete in the women's pole vault with her jump of 12-01.50, which ranks 15th in the nation.
