Season ticket sales begin for 2011 football season

ABILENE, Texas - McMurry University's football program begins season ticket sales Aug. 23 and fans can show up to the War Hawks' practice at 6 p.m. to purchase tickets. The War Hawks play four games this season, and ticket packages start at $30.

Online season ticket sales begin immediately and information can be found on mcmurrysports.com to order. Otherwise, orders may be placed at the McMurry Football offices located on campus along Ross Street at the R.M. Medley Fieldhouse beginning Aug. 23.

General admission season tickets cost $30 while chairback season tickets run for $45. All season ticket holders will also receive reserved parking passes for two convenient lots west of Wilford Moore Stadium.

In addition, Operation Maroon Pride is back for its third year as citizens of the local and McMurry community can purchase a season ticket for the men and women of Dyess Air Force Base. Operation Maroon Pride tickets are sold for $30 and donated to the military personnel and their families.

Ticket stands will be set up Aug. 23 and fans are invited to watch McMurry practice beginning at 6 p.m. In addition, the War Hawks' players and staff will hold a Bleacher Creatures camp midway through practice at approximately 7:30 p.m. for youngsters ages 5-12.

Bleacher Creature participants will receive a t-shirt, a season ticket package for a parent, and get the opportunity to lead McMurry's team on the field in each of the War Hawks' four home games. The camp will consist of football drills and games.

McMurry's home opener is Sept. 24 at Wilford Moore Stadium against East Texas Baptist at 2 p.m. with additional home games Oct. 8 against Sul Ross State at 2 p.m., Oct. 29 against Hardin-Simmons at 2 p.m. and Nov. 12 against Mississippi College at 2 p.m.
