ABILENE, Texas – Fans and followers of McMurry University football are being encouraged to support War Hawks' quarterback
Jake Mullin between now and
January 22, as he tries to earn the title of “FRS Quarterback Performance of the Year” in voting being conducted via Facebook. Mullin is the only non-NCAA Division I nominee for the award.
Your help is crucial – by voting early and voting often - to tell the rest of the country about this small college quarterback's big time efforts. If you rooted for David versus Goliath, then you want to make certain you cast your vote for Mullin, as well.
Mullin is competing against 17 other weekly quarterback winners from this season's competition. He will be going up against Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III of Baylor, No. 1 draft-pick hopeful Andrew Luck (Stanford) and USC's Matt Barkley, just to name a few. The winners will be announced during the
All-Star Football Challenge special, airing Super Bowl Sunday at 4 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
Mullin reached the finals thanks to his astonishing 614-yard and four-touchdown performance in a record-setting 60-16 win over Texas Lutheran in week No. 6 of the 2011 season.
