ABILENE, Texas – McMurry senior tight end Delfonte Diamond and junior quarterback Jake Mullin were named all-Americans by Beyond Sports Network Thursday. Diamond was named a first-team all-American while Mullin was a third-team selection.

Diamond, who had already been selected as third-team all-American by D3football.com, earns his second all-America selection after a highly productive season at tight end. Diamond led the War Hawks in receptions and yards with 71 and 930 respectively while catching eight touchdown passes.

Mullin, the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year and second-team all-South Region pick by D3football.com, earned his first all-America selection of 2011. The junior completed 64 percent of his passes, tossed 29 touchdowns and threw for 3,371 yards in 11 games leading the No. 1 passing offense in Division III.

The War Hawks finished 9-3 on the season and earned their first ever NCAA Division III Playoff berth beating Trinity in the first round. McMurry has competed in Division III for the final time in football as the university transitions to Division II beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
