SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The McMurry swimming teams were defeated in a dual match by perennial power Trinity University. The Tigers won the women's contest, 133-100, and took the men's competition, 143-73.
McM managed to win three races and all on the women's side. Sophomore
Robyn Remschel won two of those races in her specialty events: the 100 and 200 yard backstrokes. In the 100 backstroke, Remschel swam a 1:00.25, winning be nearly one full second. In the 200 backstroke, Remschel had a clocking of 2:09.42 minutes.
Also earning a win was freshman
Monica Flores, taking the 200 yard butterfly (2:33.48). Flores was also second in the 200 individual medley and the 500 freestyle (6:02.43).
Katie Gorka earned a pair of runner-up finishes on the 100 freestyle (1:02.67) and the 200 freestyle (2:14.74) for the War Hawks, as well. Sophomore
Zandria Rodriguez also picked up a pair of silvers in the 50 free (27.93) and 100 breaststroke (1:19.84).
On the men's side, Patrick Oysten was second three races: the 100 freestyle (57:02), 200 freestyle (2:02.22) and 500 freestyle (5:32.41).
Jerick Pena was runner-up in both the 100 breaststroke (58.28) and the 100 butterfly (56.60).
